Outdoor Power Equipment Maintenance

Now that spring is here, it is time to get out the power equipment that has been hibernating all winter.  It is the time of year to start getting the yard ready and looking its best.   Since you will be using this equipment more frequently over the next few months, here are some maintenance tips to keep your outdoor power equipment in top shape.

  • Make sure air and fuel filters are clean. Replace if needed.
  • Change oil every 50 hours of use or once a season whichever comes first.
  • Top unit off with fresh fuel (don’t store your fuel for over 30 days).
  • Check blades for any damage and replace them if there are any dents or bends.  If you notice the grass is being torn rather than cut, the blades need to be sharpened or replaced.
