In the year 1958, Sam and Anna Hudson, along with their sons, Howard and Leigh,
came to the Wake County, NC, town of Garner to open the business known today as
Hudson's Hardware & Outdoor Equipment. In 1985, their youngest son, Leigh,
opened a second location in the Johnston County, NC town of Clayton in 1985.
In June of 2000, Leigh assumed full ownership of Hudson's Hardware, Inc.
For 50 years Hudson's has grown based on the belief that product knowledge, a
competitive price, and legendary customer service are equally important to
ensure the true value of goods and services.
Hudson's has grown to offer a wide variety of items and services that are hard
to find in today's "big box" marketplace. We service homeowners and commercial
customers with conventional hardware items like paint, glass, hand tools, power
tools, electrical, plumbing, fasteners, building hardware, locks and keys,
cleaning supplies, houseware, automotive, and lawn & garden supplies, pine straw,
wheat straw and mulches.
Within these categories we feature quality brands like Valspar house paints,
Makita and Irwin industrial tools, Schlage, Kwikset, and Master Lock, Ortho
chemicals, Royster fertilizers, Pennington lawn seed and fertilizers.
Of regional fame, Ms. Anna has come to be affectionately known as the "Seed Lady"
for having assisted gardeners for nearly 50 years, personally weighing-out over
100 varieties of Wyatt-Quarles quality vegetable seeds while dispensing
invaluable tips for a beautiful garden.
Outdoor Power Equipment was added to Hudson's selection in 1979 with the addition
of ECHO weedtrimmers, blowers, and chainsaws. Our large showroom now features a
variety of quality brands like TORO lawnmowers, Stihl chainsaws, Shindaiwa
trimmers, Billy Goat blowers, Little Wonder vacuums, Briggs & Stratton generators
and pressure washers. We are authorized parts and warranty servicing dealers on
the above brands as well as Kohler, Kawasaki, Tecumseh, Honda and MTD and Murray
mowers. Our OPE department offers very knowledgeable and experienced Sales,
Parts, and Repair personnel.
In addition to the over 25,000 items in stock, we offer the following services:
special ordering of hard to find items, rentals of lawn & garden tools and carpet
cleaners, key duplication and lock re-keying, glass and screen repair, refill of
propane cylinders, saw chain and lawnmower blade sharpening, small engine repair,
pick-up and delivery.
